De Glinster
An angular, fun, and adaptable school building — Design & Build
De Glinster Primary and Nursery School in Asse-Zellik features a distinctive architectural design that fosters a warm and inviting atmosphere. Its angled orientation and canopy structures create an engaging environment. A welcoming plaza serves as the main entrance, providing access to the nursery atrium and a larger central atrium with a tribune staircase, both vibrant hubs for educational activities.
The atriums connect various sections of the school, facilitating access to classrooms and the playground. A rooftop playground and an outdoor staircase enhance recreational opportunities for students. Designed to maximize natural light, the atriums create an inspiring learning environment, while the detached canopies offer shade and visual coherence.
An adaptable toddler zone can be enclosed for quiet or opened to integrate younger children with primary education, promoting interaction. The first-floor sports hall extends from the atrium, encouraging physical activity. Overall, De Glinster successfully combines innovative architecture with functional design, providing a safe and stimulating environment for its students.
