Technicity
Technical education is engaging with the outside world
This expansion of the Technicity Campus in Anderlecht provides a long-awaited answer to the ever-increasing demand for technical education in the Brussels-Capital Region. With this efficient new building, the campus will not only have more educational capacity but will also be introduced as a recognizable face and a distinct identity to the outside world. The pedestrian and cyclist passageway along which the new building will be located ensures, in the first place, a strong anchoring of the Technicity site in its environment, but also provides a clear, structured and intuitive campus.
A concrete column structure, designed according to the rational principles of traditional industrial construction, provides a robust framework within which the workshops, classrooms, atrium and meeting rooms for the school are organized. The modular structure ensures a flexible building that will be easy to adapt to the (unknown) future. The concrete facade follows the rhythm of the structure and the large windows provide a strong connection between the school and its surroundings.
