Neo Sportpark
New green space for city sports
The NEO Sportpark Heizelplateau project aims to renovate the existing sports center located between Houba de Strooperlaan and Eeuwfeestlaan in Brussels. As part of a collaborative design team that includes Omgeving, ZJA, and ARA, Oskar conducted a comprehensive analysis of this approximately 10-hectare area and developed plans for the new sports park.
The sports park will feature multiple sports fields designated for rugby, hockey, and athletics. In addition to these fields, several new buildings will be constructed to provide supporting functions within the park.
Among these buildings, the archery facility will be the largest and will undergo renovation and expansion. Following this work, it is set to accommodate the new offices of the Belgian Olympic Committee.
Furthermore, the majority of these buildings will be seamlessly integrated beneath the stands and within the slopes of the surrounding structures. This approach aims to transform the new Heysel plateau into a vibrant green oasis dedicated to sports in the city.
