Wevelgem Church
sports, culture, and meeting under one roof
A former church in Wevelgem is transforming into a dynamic community center, aligning with the Bouwmeester Scan's sustainable urban development goals. Its central location allows for tailored designs on each side, ensuring seamless integration into the neighborhood.
The site will accommodate diverse activities, including a sports hall for local schools and public use. A new library will serve as a cultural and educational hub, while a multipurpose room with a bar will host various events, emphasizing flexibility and community engagement.
Additionally, a local service center with meeting rooms will provide social and administrative services. This multifaceted project revitalizes the historic church, creating a vibrant community space that combines sports, culture, education, and social interaction, ultimately strengthening community ties and enhancing local life.
