GBS 't Populiertje

The proposed primary school building is designed to create a welcoming and stimulating learning environment. Its central location on the site establishes a strong presence and fosters a sense of community. The compact rectangular form, with three floors, provides a clear and efficient organization of spaces. 
A multifunctional circulation zone serves as a central hub connecting classrooms and other facilities. This space encourages interaction and collaboration among students. Each classroom opens onto the circulation zone, promoting a sense of openness and connection. The inclusion of tiered seating on each floor provides flexible spaces for various activities, such as assemblies, presentations, and group work. This feature also helps to bridge the gap between different age groups. Two canopies are incorporated into the building's design, offering covered outdoor spaces for play, learning and shelter. They also serve as extensions of the indoor spaces, providing additional flexibility and functionality for both the gym and the kindergarten on the first floor.
